There are lots of things to see and do when you visit David Cheshire Nurseries. All our visitors receive a warm welcome and we are happy for you to browse and enjoy our rare and unusual garden plants, extensive range of Acers (Japanese Maples) and Bonsai.

Also on-site can be found Russells Garden Centre, The Potting Shed Cafe, Avondale Nursery and Bridge View Light Railway. Please note that opening times for the above may vary to ours.

Need to relax, take a gentle walk around the Quarry Garden* and Maze or wander through the wildflower meadow next to the River Sowe. *Please note that the Quarry Garden remains closed until further notice.

Food and Drink

Located just a stone's throw away from our nursery is The Old Mill on Mill Hill. This charming, pub-restaurant (Chef and Brewer) with a contemporary style, offers freshly prepared food and drinks. Great for outdoor eating and drinking in the summer.

At the opposite end of Baginton village 1Km to the south-east is The Oak Baginton which also offers freshly prepared food and drinks. Immediately over the road from The Oak Baginton is the magnificent 350 year old Baginton Oak tree, thought to be one of the oldest trees in Warwickshire.

Nature, History and Countryside

450m to the south-east lies are ruins of a 14th-century Bagots castle in a picturesque setting with a visitor centre and picnic area. During late April and early May the banks leading down from the castle to the river are carpeted by a wonderful display of bluebells. Entry fees apply - open April to October, weekends and bank holidays from 10:30am tp 4pm.

400m to the east lies Lunt Roman Fort; a partially reconstructed timber Roman fortress. It is open to the public during select school holiday dates only.

Warwickshire County Council's Ryton Pools Country Park consists of 100 acres just waiting to be explored. The many different habitats are home to a wide range of birds and other wildlife. Have a picnic in the peace and quiet of the Park, or enjoy refreshments at the Visitor Centre.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve; Warwickshire's premier nature reserve with visitor centre and cafe.

Museums and Attractions

Just 1Km away is Coventry Airport and the Midland Air Museum, an open-air museum with exhibits including a MIG 21, Vulcan bomber and a Sea Harrier.
